When an opinion columnist cites on a radio program a statistic that is at least several years old, it’s not unreasonable for a “PR flak” working on that same issue to pass along up-to-date data. You stated that “a good two-thirds of the population, if not more, supports embryonic stem cell research,” yet a March ‘09 Gallup Poll indicated significantly less at 54 percent. Nothing in that email exchange addressed “cow-people hybrids,” but readers can decide for themselves if such research is factual and taking place or, as Susan writes, is “science fiction”: http://tiny.cc/KQtdO

Right on Sister! You sound like my kind of Reporter. I also second everything Bill Kandler has mentioned. The amount of nonsense and plain BS, as Susan so elegantly put it, responsible for distorting the facts on a continual basis, is killing our Nation. What a tragic disservice to the Public and those who only want facts and rational information by which we can base our own judgments.

Specifically on the Health care issues, God help us and thank you Susan!! Keep up the good work!

Thank you Susan. This is a big problem that we, citizens, are going to have to figure out how to handle. With the unlimited ability for anyone to widely distribute opinion as fact without editorial oversight, legitimate news media are facing a new world. We need to have more discussion about this.
Information should flow freely. As a society, we need to develop better skill for discerning fact from fiction.
