Michigan Political Leadership Program Applications for Class of 2011

Applications due Friday, September 10, 2010Applications are now available for one of the nation’s premier leadership training programs. Each year, 24 men and women from across the state and from all walks of life and political parties are competitively chosen for 10 months of training, one weekend per month. Successful applicants participate in a curriculum providing a solid foundation practical politics, public policy analysis, personal leadership development and effective governance. Recently the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party in the House of Lords elected him as its new Convener (Chair). He has substantial experience of working with political conflict and terrorism in various parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East. September 16–17A keynote address by GVSU professor Richard Gunderman on September 16 at 7 p.m. will kick off this GVSU Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies series on the presidency and philanthropy in America. Gunderman will compare and contrast the contributions of Presidents Herbert Hoover and John F. Kennedy. On September 17 the event will resume at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and sessions on Adam Smith, the development of philanthropy, public/private partnerships and a book discussion.
