When I moved from Lansing to Oakland County over 20 years ago, I was shocked at how poor the coverage is of local and State news in this area. The media in metro Detroit follows the "if it bleeds, it leads" philosophy. With the demise of many of the Eccentric newspapers, local news coverage has gotten even worse. We could use this kind of local media here in Oakland County.

Dave -- you make a valid point, but the reality is that time marches on and you benefit from the improved technology.

Do you want to go back to manual typewriters? cars that get 10mpg and require an oil change every 1,000 miles? black-and-white television? no more cellular phones?

HDTV is a massive improvement over analog TV; internet radio offers both improved reception and the ability to listen anywhere in the world.

And for most people, reception is on equipment they already own: computers or smart phones.

I miss Walt's show on WILS. I wish people would stick with proven technoogy (i.e., radio) and do a good job on that, rather than force us to buy expensive new equipment and listen online. Who wants to do that? First they took away analog TV, and now they're trying to kill radio. And how do any of us benefit?

TalkLansing with Walt Sorg is different from the rest. NO right wing dominance. This show is truly fair and balanced. Unlike Fox's attempt to drown us in their kool aid, this station will present all sides.
